Other than that the Bowers family has long been associated with the history of Lowell, Massachusetts, I haven't turned up any particulars on Albert Bower.
Needless, it remained for Mr. Marcy to install his own lock on the tool chest. Apparently there was some discussion over whose responsibility it was to install the lock?

Received of P L Marcy five dollars for a Chest and one Set of bench planes and three Saws and a few other small tools the said articals he can hav by paying five dollars and the expens of putting on a lock on the said Chest any time between this and the first of April next which if he does not redem within that time the said articls is Paid Marcy and he can doo what he pleases with them
